Why BBT?
Tea can heal us.
2020 was a wild year.
The world saw more and more disunity, violence, and mental health issues brought on by police brutality, severed race relations, and a global pandemic that changed everything.
From a small living room in Los Angeles, Cameron, Lindsey, and Tim recognized the need for a tool that could bring us together. Tea, one of the most powerful healing tools in the world, became that tool.
We sourced high-quality leaves and delivered them to our membership community in a time of need.
Our mission: Increase mental wellness in corporate America.
Our vision: Serve a universe where all people put mental wellness first.
Where We Are Now
What started in a living room has grown into something much bigger. Since 2020, Big Black Tea has evolved from a community-first passion project into a recognized brand operating at the intersection of wellness, culture, and corporate America.
We've been featured in manufactured 1987, where we shared how we built and scaled BBT during the pandemic, a story about resilience, community, and the power of a good cup of tea.
We've partnered with some of the most forward-thinking organizations in the country:
- LinkedIn — The world's largest professional network chose Big Black Tea because we share the same values: employee wellness, fulfillment, and finding peace in the moment, one cup at a time.
- Bon Appétit Management — One of the most respected on-site restaurant companies in the country, serving corporations, universities, and museums, selected BBT as one of their few tea vendors. What drew them to us? Our mission, our focus on inclusion, and our shared belief in community, culture, and sustainability.
And yes, the tea is still HOT. Literally.
The Guide Community
At the heart of Big Black Tea is our mafia membership community, a growing collective of luminaries from every discipline who believe that mental wellness isn't a luxury, it's a necessity. From executives to artists, educators to entrepreneurs, our bosses are united by one thing: the ritual of slowing down, sipping intentionally, and showing up fully.
We've also collaborated with local Los Angeles artists on limited edition drops, like our Molten collection, because great tea deserves great art.
